Established 1984
J. A. Long, Inc. began in 1984 as a grading and soil stabilization contractor working primarily in Georgia. In 1998, with the addition of Mr. Robert Tillery, Sr. (Bob), J. A. Long began a small concrete paving division with a few key pieces of support equipment and people who knew the work. Bob Tillery purchased J. A. Long, Inc in 2004 and his children, Bobby Tillery (President) and Drew Tillery (Vice President), took over operations in 2011. Since the Tillery Family has owned the company it has grown significantly and they are well-known for being an outstanding concrete paving contractor in the southeast. Our specality is high volume concrete projects related to highway and airport infrastructure.
Our staff of employees have many years of road and airport construction experience and they are skilled in concrete finishing, heavy equipment operating, carpentry, and have the ability to adapt to any job presented to them. Employee satisfaction is top priority, therefore we have a very low turnover rate. Many of our employees have been with J.A. Long, Inc. for over 10 years
J. A. Long, Inc. has performed work as a prime contractor and subcontractor for the GDOT. Our experience ranges from full-depth slab replacement, new concrete construction, spall repair, slab removal, PCC patching, to concrete demolition. As a prime contractor, we have overseen and performed the construction of rest areas, county road resurfacing projects, interchange reconstruction, intersection improvements, and interstate concrete rehabilitation.

Our President, Bobby Tillery, and Vice President, Drew Tillery, are on the jobsite most days to ensure the job meets or exceeds the expectations of the contracts. Our team is trained, qualified and accurate. J A. Long, Inc. uses Gomaco paving equipment that produce profilograph results of less than 7 inches per mile We also maintain and operate 3 portable Rex on-site batch plants that are capable producing high quality, low slump concrete in excess of 300 cubic yards per hour.
